The City of CC sent out their film schedule for this summer's Bay Jammin' Cinema Series. There are no titles listed bc of the licensing agreement to show the film, but most are easy to interpret. When you talk to coordinators of this event they have learned that attendance is exponential when you introduce recent box office, family friendly hits. Makes sense. So you'll see several of those, but they do take a couple of chances with The Ran from Mo-y Sniver, Aching Braway and Ingrid Bergman film AND then some rock documentaries really work well.

FREE SUMMER 2009 ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE
AT COLE PARK AMPHITHEATER

The City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Cultural Services Division, J² Productions, Sound Vibrations, Redding Communications, Time Warner Cable, Executive Surf Club and McLellan & Phillips Law Firm, and a variety of other local businesses once again invite you to come to Cole Park Amphitheater to enjoy the Bay Jammin’ Cinema Series. This year’s lineup which will run from June 5 to September 4, 2009 is full of action, adventure and will bring out the laughter in all ages. Movies will be shown every Friday evening beginning after sunset. All the films are closed captioned. These presentations are offered FREE for everyone to enjoy, so bring your lawn chairs, blankets and enjoy this wonderful family entertainment.

The 2009 summer CINEMA schedule is as follows: (Fridays, after sunset)
June 5
Comedy, 105 minutes, 2006 - A naive young woman comes to New York and scores a job as the assistant to one of the city's biggest magazine editors, the ruthless and cynical Miranda Priestly. Starring: Glenn Close and Anne Hathaway

June 12
Comedy, 91 minutes, 2003 - Two men get laid off and have to become stay-at-home dads when they can't find jobs. This inspires them to open their own day-care center. Starring: Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, and Steve Zahn

June 19
Animated Film, 87 minutes, 2006 - Into the world of the Emperor Penguins,
who find their soul mates through song, a penguin is born who cannot sing. But he can tap dance something fierce!

June 26
Drama, 94 minutes, 1982 - A story about Jim Craig, an 18-year-old, who has
recently lost his father, has to win the respect from the men of the high country to run his father’s farm. Starring: Kirk Douglas

July 3
Comedy/Children’s Fantasy, 95 minutes, 2007 - Molly Mahoney is the
awkward and insecure manager of one of the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy stores in the world. But when Mr. Magorium, the 243-year-old eccentric who owns the store, bequeaths the store to her, a dark and ominous change begins to take over the once remarkable Emporium. Starring: Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman

July 10
Romance and Comedy, 99 minutes, 1989 - Harry and Sally meet when she gives him a ride to New York after they both graduate from the University of Chicago. Classic, Drama and Action, 158 minutes, 1958 - All her life Englishwoman Gladys Aylward knew that China was the place where she belonged. Not qualified to be sent there as a missionary, Gladys works as a domestic to earn the money to send herself to a poor, remote village. Starring: Ingrid Bergman and Curd Jurgens
