WHAT IS CC7D?

What is the Corpus Christi 7-Day Film Project? (CC7D)

CC7D is an annual filmmaking competition/screening conducted by the Corpus Christi Film Society currently in its fourth year. It was designed to:
--celebrate area filmmakers, both veterans and amateurs
--create an avenue for more filmmaking activity in our area
--boost the skill set and create resume experience for local actors and crew
--boost both amateur and experienced filmmakers' skills
--have a lot of fun in the name of local filmmaking

Filmmaking teams have one week to make a short film from start to finish. The entire process must occur within that 7 days. This year the Official 7-Day Time Period is from Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 6:30 PM to Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 6:30 PM. The completed films will be screened to the public at Harbor Playhouse on August 21, 2010 beginning at 2PM. Click here for tickets. The screening will be followed by an Awards presentation for the best films and performances. The Awards Ceremony will occur at House of Rock on August 21, 2010 at 10PM. House of Rock is located at 511 Starr St. Click Here for more information about the screening.

There are four CC7D events:

1. The Citywide Cast and Crew Call - Several weeks before filmings begins, The Cast and Crew Call is a great place to learn about CC7D and how to get involved. It is open to anyone who would might want to appear in or work on a CC7D film. This year, The Cast and Crew Call is on June 23, 2009 at THE VENUE at House of Rock (511 Starr St. in downtown Corpus Christi) beginning at 6:30 PM. It is free and open to all. (Attendance at this event does not guarantee that you will beplaced on a team.)

2. The CC7D Kickoff Event - The Kickoff is where teams register, pay and receive the three essential elements that must appear in their film. At the end of this event, the clock begins to run for the Official 7-Day Filming Period. This year, The CC7D Kickoff Event is on July 7, 2010 at THE VENUE at House of Rock (511 Starr St. in downtown Corpus Christi) beginning at 6:30 PM. It is free and open to all.

3. The CC7D Wrap Party - The Wrap Party is where teams turn in their completed (hopefully) films. It begins at 6:30, but films are due exactly 168 hours (7 days) after the end of the kickoff event. This year, The CC7D Wrap Party is on July 14, 2010 at THE VENUE at House of Rock (511 Starr St. in downtown Corpus Christi) beginning at 6:30 PM. It is free and open to all.

4. The CC7D Screening and Awards - The CC7D Screening occurs a few weeks after the films are turned in. It is open to the public and sells out quickly. This year, The CC7D Screening is on August 21, 2010 at The Harbor Playhouse beginning at 2 PM.
